I'm no relationship expert but I think a reason some people don't do well in relationships with people or are even single, is because they don't want to be caught vulnerable. I know it can be crazy opening up or "exposing" some parts of your life, and then it gets used against you. So you're now cautious of who you become vulnerable with.
I get it.
But I think being vulnerable is beautiful. If it's with the right person. It fosters trust. And if it's not one sided. Who else concurs?
But where am I going?
Business owners, are you with me? 'cause this applies to you.
I know social media gives the perception that you have to be that top guy, be professional and that people only care about results. Which isn't far from the truth.
But do you know that people appreciate the process too? Yes, they do. They recognize struggles, pains and can relate to whatever they have experienced. Let me know if you are with me.
You see, it's not enough to only share your results, the outcome. Share the journey too. The challenges you encountered, the mistakes you made and how you were able to tackle them. You are getting your audience to trust you more.
I'm not saying you should look like what you're going through or tell the world that you're suffering or beg them to buy from you because you haven't eaten since yesterday night.
My point is…
As much as you're showing results, don't hide the process too, whether you're a product or service business owner. Once in a while, share a story of how you solved a problem, do a review of your past and present. It could be in different forms.
Let them have a feeling of what you don't always show. Isn't that a way of being vulnerable?
Everyday is not for "sales." You don't have to always close a deal immediately. Play the long term game too. The things you do to get them to trust you, would help make up for the sales on the long run.
This is just a free tip for my business homies. Jysk, the brand that is human and relatable wins the heart of her audience.
You're welcome.
My homie, I hope you're not playing it small or safe. The world deserves to know the stuff you're made of. Take the risk and come out of your shell. You're a star, and “stars don't try to shine. They just do it.”🌟
❤️ + ✨,
Damdam.
